A new pickaxe is always cool
The Amazon Luna Fortnite pickaxe (otherwise known as the Velocity Edge Pickaxe) can be unlocked by accessing the battle royale on the streaming service. For two weeks, this special item will be available. After that, it will fade away from existence. Here’s how to get the Amazon Luna Fortnite pickaxe.
Where to get Amazon Luna Fortnite pickaxe
To access the Amazon Luna Fortnite pickaxe, you’ll need to log in to the game through the streaming service. You don’t even need to play a round to unlock it. However, accessing Amazon Luna may be difficult for some. It’s only available in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and Canada. Additionally, you’ll need to have either Amazon Prime or the subscription service attached to Luna called Luna+ to play Fortnite. Thankfully, there’s a seven-day free trial for Luna+ if you lack Amazon Prime. Keep in mind Amazon Luna only works on PC (through a browser) and mobile platforms, Fire TVs, and Samsung TVs. You can’t access it through any consoles as of the time of writing. Here is a full list of compatible devices.
After finding Fortnite in Luna, you’ll need to log in with your Epic Games Account and then boot up Fortnite. Once the game launches, you’ll see that your same account is accessible. You can also play with your friends on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, and PC platforms as Fortnite is crossplay.
Unfortunately, the Amazon Luna Fortnite pickaxe (Velocity Edge Pickaxe) is only available to those who play the game through the app between July 3 and July 17. After you perform this task, the pickaxe will pop up in your account as an in-game gift box “approximately two weeks after eligible game play,” according to the official Epic Games blog.
Is the Velocity Edge Pickaxe exclusive to Amazon Luna?
If you don’t want to bother with Amazon Luna but want the Velocity Edge Pickaxe, there may be another way. “The Velocity Edge Pickaxe may become available for purchase in the Item Shop at a later date,” says Epic Games on the same blog. You’ll have to keep an eye out on the store every day if you’re intent on getting the Velocity Edge Pickaxe after July 17.
