#18 Movie of 2023: Suzume. I don't watch anime but japanese animated movies I watch from time to time. The art here is excellent, plus the freedom and soul only animation has. The plot is ok, but that scene with the crying girl at the end is gold. 4/5.
Got through Cocytus in GFD:UM and the boss on my first go at it, now to see if the Warrior difficulty level adds something new.
Spotted Getsufumaden: Undying Moon in store, and bought it. I've been playing it probably more than I should've been... most weapons unlocked, and I finally dared to go to the ancient battleground (died). Using the second difficulty level, not the easiest
Weekly Update, here are the games I am currently playing. I am going to review those within brackets once completed:
-[In Cold Blood (PS1)]
-13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim (Switch)
-Knights and Bikes (Switch)
-Yakuza 6: Song of Life (PS4/5)
Current Status:
I find it interesting that I'm one of very few critics to have covered Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition at launch. I thought that way more people would be excited about it. Kind of shows what strange priorities I have.
#40 Beaten in 2023 is: Donkey Kong 64. Part country wannabe, part 3D platformer with a lot of potential, I don't understand why collecting LOTS of stuff + backtracking is any fun. Getting to the ending was anything but climatic. Missed opportunity. 2.5/5.
#39 Game beaten in 2023 is: Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes. I remembered why I hadn't tried this one before: I wasn't interested. Graphically, is ok. But why all the matrix cinematic choreographies? This doesn't do much to validate its existence. 3/5.
Been playing FF12 on new game + for a nice, semi-relaxing time. It's basically a boosted mode, you start at level 90. You can't kill everything instantly, like the big t-rex in the starting area you still can't kill that guy. A nice way to unwind.
Gonna finally check out Bloodstained, a surprise gift from our very own Phil. Thanks, man!
I'm almost 40, and I'm finding I increasingly no longer have the patience for deep, complex games that involve a lot of decisions and mechanics to learn and take a while to learn that I used to love until recently, such as turn-based strategy.
The transition from Nightmare to Torment in Diablo IV was jarring enough that I might be getting close to the "why am I even doing this" point I inevitably reach in these games and bowing out. I'm fighting enemies 14 levels higher, and though I'm still
I'm still going to post all of my main videos here, for those who want to see them. My video on Bowser's Inside Story is done, and I think it's a pretty good one! Check it out if you've got some time!
I cleared the D4 Nightmare Capstone Dungeon at 61. Died 5 times to the boss, but it was actually a cool fight because I was dying to things I could avoid, so there was a skill element. Hopefully now I'll start finding useful items again.
Featuring Turtles NES and Blues, Jazz etc. Greetings fellow game music lovers, another Turtles NES entry, this time the second stage theme: The song has strong Blues characteristics although the rhythm rather suggests a derivative lik...
