Final Fantasy XVI (FF16) Bygul location and Hunt guide

Final Fantasy XVI Bygul

Bygul is a tricky coeurl to take down in Final Fantasy XVI. It will spew lightning all over the battlefield and unleash powerful abilities towards Clive and his friends. Thankfully, I have a few tips to help you take it down. Here’s how to beat the Final Fantasy XVI Bygul and where to find it.

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to access the Final Fantasy XVI‘s Bygul fight for a very long time. It’s unlocked during the Brotherhood main mission, which is near the end of the game. You’ll also need to access Kritten Hollow, which will require you to clear some missions first.

Bygul location & directions in Final Fantasy XVI (FF16)

First, prepare yourself with the correct items. Get as many Potions and High Potions as possible and upgrade them. You may want to buy some Elixirs if you have the cash to spend.

You’ll find the feline Final Fantasy XVI Bygul in The Kingdom of Waloed’s Kritten Hollow. To get here, find the Ravenwit Walls fast travel point on the world map. It’s far east and is northeast of Eistla. Once you’ve arrived, you’ll spot the Bygul in the middle of the field, nearby a forested area. Run up to it and get ready for a tricky fight.

How to beat the Bygul

This cat definitely feels like it has nine lives, especially as it barrages you with its lightning-based attacks. The first move you should know about is Whipcrack. It sends two waves of electrical waves towards Clive and then charges at him. If it lands, you’ll suffer around 1,000 damage.

If it begins to illuminate, get ready to evade its tail. Try to get the timing right to nail a precision dodge. This will give you the space you need to get away from its terrifying abilities. Try to stagger it with a few of your abilities like Aerial Blast and then land your best attacks like Flames of Rebirth or Judgment Bolt.

When Bygul gets to around half health, be very careful. It will begin an attack called Static Torrent. More electricity will strike down, and patterns on the ground begin to form. Dodge out of the way and keep your eye on the ball.

Wild Charge is when the battle gets scary. It charges itself up into a yellow glow, and its attacks get stronger. It will leap into the air and start diving towards you, dealing 500 damage with each hit. The attack lasts 20 seconds, so focus on dodging these attacks instead of attacking Bygul. Otherwise, you might regret your decision and start all over again. After staggering the Bygul twice, the foe should be slain.

Get a Coeurl Whisker by slaying Bygul

After getting rid of this dangerous feline monster, you’ll gain the following:

  • 1 Coeurl Whisker
  • 1 Meteorite
  • 8,000 Experience Points
  • 100 Ability Points
  • 16,000 Gil
  • 35 Renown

After finishing this hunt, you should try taking out Terminus next. It also has a lot of electrical craziness going on, but I’m sure you can handle it.
