Final Fantasy XVI (FF16) The Pack location and Hunt guide

Final Fantasy XVI The Pack boss

The Final Fantasy XVI The Pack boss is one of the easiest hunts in the game. However, these wolves do have some tricks you should be aware of. Your HP can run out surprisingly quickly if you’re not careful.

Here’s how to find the Final Fantasy XVI The Pack boss and how to beat them.

The Pack location & directions in Final Fantasy XVI (FF16)

To find The Pack, you’ll want to head all the way over to The Gilded Path or Tabor on the World Map. Look in the Dhalmekian Republic area and northeast of The Free Cities of Kanver.

Once you’ve arrived, head southeast of The Gilded Path text on the map. Getting on your chocobo will accelerate the process. Turn right off the small valley and you’ll see some greenery. In this vicinity, you’ll see half a dozen wolves stalking the spot. Approach them.

How to beat The Pack

You may be howling in laughter because the Final Fantasy XVI The Pack fight is incredibly easy. As there are a lot of wolves surrounding you, use AoE (area of effect) attacks like Flames of Rebirth and Aerial Blast. These will bring down their health quickly. The Aerial Blast attack in particular is great because it keeps them all in one vicinity rather than all around you. It’s also satisfying to see them ragdolling in the air.

Do be somewhat weary, however. Each bite or scratch causes around 200 damage. My health did go down to 500 HP at some point, so you still want to have some level of caution. There is one skill these Pack Wolves use called Thrill of the Hunt, in which they all attack you at the same time, but you can dodge them easily.

You should be able to take out these wolves in a minute or so. It’s what to expect from a C-level boss, I guess. It’s similar to how easy the Grimalkin is.

Your rewards for beating this boss

After you’ve defeated these easy pickings, you’ll gain the following spoils:

  • 700 Experience
  • 50 Ability Points
  • 5,800 Gil
  • 10 Renown
  • 20 Sharp Fangs
  • 50 Bloody Hides
  • 10 Magicked Ashes

When you’ve finished this battle, you should also give your canine friend Torgal some pets. He deserves them for all his hard work. To find a better challenge, I recommend trying to defeat The Ten of Clubs for 2,200 Experience, Sehkret for 800 Experience, and the Dread Comet for 5,300 Experience.
